MIHAI TIULIUMEANU
I’m a History and Civic Education teacher and I coordinate the European Integration Commission in my school. I have a master degree in European Institutions and Communitarian Law but my research domains are the history of Late Antiquity and the history of Byzantium.
I like to travel and I have favourite places where I come back, every time, with pleasure: Athens and Thessaloniki (Greece), Madrid (Spain) or Istanbul (Turkey). A special place is Blackpool (England), where I lived for 6 months, in 2005, participating in a Work & Travel program. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a really amazing amusement park!
I love literature, my favourite writers/novels are Russian and South American: Mihail Solohov (Quiet Flows the Don), Alexei Tolstoy (The Road to Calvary), Mario Varga Llosa (La ciudad y los perros, La fiesta del chivo), Miguel Asturias (El Señor Presidente), Augusto Roa Bastos (Yo el Supremo).
Blackpool, UK
My favourite movies……hmmmm….you expected to say Troy, Gladiator or Alexander, didn’t you?
I’ll choose just a few from my special movies list: C.R.A.Z.Y., La Vita e Bella and Cel mai iubit dintre pamanteni (the best Romanian movies of all times!).
My favourite songs? It’s hard to say… In my rare moments of sadness I prefer: John Denver – Annie’s song, Dirty dancing – Time of my life, Diana Ross – I will survive, Diana Ross &Lionel Richie – Endless Love… All the ordinary days, I listen everything, from Lordi to James Blunt….
